A group of lines including Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Hanjin and Yangming, are preparing to launch a new Asia/Adriatic service from the end of May, PR News Service can reveal
While the new service under several different names, has been talked about for some five months without reaching any fruitful conclusion, PR News Service has learned that the new Mediterranean/Adriatic Express (MAE), as HMM will call it, will involve at least three lines, and possibly a fourth, as vessel providers
Sources in Italy say the fourth vessel provider will be UASC, who will operate the new Mediterranean/Adriatic loop as the AMC3 service
HMM has made an official presentation of the new service to customers, and
although Hanjin's official line is that "nothing has been finalised yet",
final negotiations are known to be taking place on port calls and berthing
windows
Sources in Korea this morning, have confirmed a provisional port rotation
with berthing windows as follows : Pusan (Sun/Mon), Shanghai (Tues/Wed),
Ningbo (Wed/Wed), Yantian (Fri/Sat), Singapore (Tues/Tues), Colombo
(Sat/Sat), Jeddah (Sat/Sat), Port Said (Mon/Tues), Alexandria (Tues/Wed),
Mersin (Thurs/Fri), Koper (Sun/Mon), Trieste (Mon/Tues), Rijeka (Wed/Thurs),
Venice (Thurs/Fri), Port Said (Mon/Mon), Singapore (Sun/Mon), Hong Kong
(Thurs/Thurs), Pusan (Sun/Mon)
Vessel deployment is expected to be eight vessels averaging 4,700 teu
capacity
